Established in 2003, Public Recordings supports and promotes the works of dancemaker Ame Henderson and her collaborators. Public Recordings is recognized for its distinctive style that incorporates ideas and aesthetics from other disciplines and questions recognized performance models. Deeply committed to collaborative working structures as both an aesthetic interest and a political responsibility, we continue to research and promote reciprocal engagement. Our objectives in creating, producing and touring our repertoire are to inspire new approaches to dance and to cultivate critical discourse without abandoning humor and lightness. We understand that intellectual and artistic risk-taking is an inherent responsibility of our project.
